We are located next to the Pan American Center at 1780 East University Ave in the Educational Services Building, Room 8, on the NMSU Las Cruces campus. Free parking and visitor permits are available for passport customers. Go to visitor parking information to learn more.

- All forms must be filled out prior to arriving and we request copies be made in advance (one copy of citizenship, front, and back of ID). The necessary forms and required documents can be found at travel.state.gov. Please check your application for errors, as corrections are not allowed. Our office charges $1 per page for copies/prints outs.

- Passport Processing Times have been updated to 10-13 weeks for routine and 7-9 weeks for expedited. Please see the Department of State webpage for more information. (Processing time begins when the Passport agency or center receives your application, not when it is accepted by the acceptance agent.)

NMSU provides passport application acceptance services at its main campus in Las Cruces. The service is available to the general public, NMSU students, faculty, and staff.
Application Requirements
First-time applicants:- Passport application DS-11 (PDF, Fillable PDF)
- Proof of citizenship (Original Birth Certificate, Naturalization Document or previous passport) and one photocopy
- Photo I.D. (Driver’s License, Military ID, State ID) and a copy of the front and back
- Two forms of payment in check or money order (one for the application, one for the fee and/or photo)
Passport Renewal
Acceptance facilities do not process renewals, we are available to take care of passport photos for the renewal applications.
Passport Photos
The NMSU Passport Acceptance Facility can take your official passport photos at the time of your visit. The cost is $10 for 2 photos.
