Interaction with the students

There are multiple options to engage with students in this virtual environment, including:

  • Video, audio, and chat communication with students
  • Up to 5 group information sessions with up to 50 students per session
  • 1:1 meetings with students scheduled in advance or after a group session

It is recommended to create your schedule as soon as possible to give students a chance to sign up for your group session slots. Participants can also join the day of the event if slots are still available. It is highly recommended that you host a maximum of 5 group sessions. A visual presentation such as a PowerPoint is highly recommended for each group session. Each exhibitor will also have a chance to assign representatives to 1:1 individual sessions that are 10 minutes each in length. For example, if you have 5 representatives who will be assisting you the day of the event, you can schedule each of the 5 representatives 1:1 sessions starting at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Participants can sign up prior to the virtual fair start date or on the day of the event if slots are still available. See full step-by-step instructions on how to set up your virtual fair schedule in the Creating a Schedule for Virtual Fairs Handshake Article.

After the Education Abroad Fair

After your sessions are over, follow up with participants! Exhibitors have access to an RSVP tab that includes student information for any students that registered for a group or 1:1 session. Additional information about following up with participants can be found in the Following Up After a Virtual Fair Handshake article.
